Your car is no longer just nuts and bolts… from around 2000 onwards (some earlier) cars run with the assistants of an onboard computer (ECU). Engine Diagnostics has to play a big part in faultfinding and the ECU will attempt to correct faults first.

The MOT you have on your car will not keep it running… Good servicing is the only way to keep you vehicle healthy and safe. The MOT is the minimum requirement by VOSA to keep your car safely on the road… it only takes into account the condition on the day of the MOT. Most MOT testers will give you an advisory sheet of work that they recommend to be carried out (imminent faults)… this covers the items that are listed in the MOT.
Servicing and renewing cam-belts when required can sometimes be a cost we could do without, but this cost could be a lot cheaper than purchasing another car after a major break down… or worse… Accident.

Failure to service your car could cause unnecessary problems like a starvation of air (needed for combustion).

Fuel leak crystallising under pressure… very dangerous build up of petrol.

Can effect steering & handling

We use a good quality engine flush on every service… Is it necessary? Look for yourself at the build up of deposits on this oil pickup, this is situated inside the bottom of your engine and can be a costly job to remove and clean (that’s if it’s detected before the engine is starved of oil… potential engine seizure).
